Hello
Meet Frank Green Jr.

My Story

Frank Deas Green, Jr. was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and grew up in East Harlem in New York City. In his youth, he was an Alter Boy and a member of the Boy Scouts of America, where he was encouraged to take on the role of Scout Leader.

After graduating from Julia Richman High School in 1979, and briefly attending University of Missouri-St. Louis, he returned to New York City and gained employment in Retail, Banking, and Bookkeeping. During this, he also coached youth baseball, football, and basketball.

While working in San Francisco, he participated in a mentoring program for third-graders, which motivated him to pursue a career in Education. After earning his AA in Liberal Arts and passing the ABC test, Frank became a Paraprofessional in the San Francisco School District and later a Computer Lab Specialist in the Berkeley Unified School District. Following the death of his father, he moved to Mount Vernon, NY to be closer to family. He gained employment as a Computer Lab Specialist in the Mount Vernon Unified School District.

At the request of a relative, he relocated to St. Louis, where he served as a Technology Specialist for the Ferguson-Florissant School District. During his time at every district he has been employed, Frank has been involved in after school, and mentoring programs.

Over his 22 years at Ferg-Flor, he became a member of the National Education Association, taking part in various national, state, and local caucuses and committees, and holding executive board roles such as FFNEA Local President and MNEA Board of Directors. Frank is also a proud resident of Bellefontaine Neighbors for 24 years.
